Stepping forward...and then back again
Update Oct 2016
What a crock. Now the app wont accept credentials or log in at all. Able to access via website on same device.
If you cant get the basics right then why bother.
Update Mar 2016 - back to 1 star
Once again, the wise people have decided to mess with a losing formula.
The app now repeatedly requires log in, making Touch ID useless.
The home view screen has been compressed and just looks wrong.
When will they take a time to test their releases first??
Update Jan 2016 - now 2 star
So I have to concede some real improvements have been made. This app now exceeds the minimal standards one expects but is a long way from being great.
Remaining frustrations are:
- still way too slow to log in, even with touchID
- the layout is more like someones web design forced into an app format - this needs to be designed with app users needs in mind. If I want to check my mode or thermostat settings, I dont want to have to click 3 times and scroll around to do it.
- you still have to use the web service to change any automations (cant be done from the app) and you cant use the website on iPhone with 100% success.
Update - you should check the definition of listen!!
This is still appalling. The login is buggy - had to re enter credentials three times today.
Why they insist on making you click three things to get a job done I dont know. Some of the text and buttons are too small for a phone screen.
Previous version was clunky, sometimes buggy but generally worked.
This latest update is all form and no function. Navigation is more like a website and just doesnt work well on the phone.
Its often easier just to use Safari and access the website.
If this had been the version I tested before purchase I would never have had it installed in my home.
