ADT Pulse ® app good for
10 seconds before writing this review I had a panic-mode moment where I thought I forgot to arm the house... And I did. Thankfully this app showed me what an IDIOT I was and I was able to fix my error with a tap on the screen. My rating is not 5 stars simply because I had to delete and re-install when the pin pad and the user login screen decided to get drunk together and vomited a jumbled text-mess on my screen that only pressing the home button would hide. Id add an extra 1/2 if I could because it really was a minor issue.
This app gets only 4 stars because it works well, when it works. Seems all too often though that it has problems connecting to the server, indecipherable login pages, etc. Its a nice convenience, but you certainly cant rely on it.
I’ve had ADT Pulse for a few weeks now and overall I’m happy. Two issues I have with it, though.
1) No option to activate PANIC, call POLICE or call FIRE from the phone. If we’re upstairs in bed, and both keypads are on the first floor (main door and garage), there’s no way to activate the alarm if we think there’s a fire, or breaking. Yes, we have one key fob, but isn’t this app meant to replace that?
2) What do the settings ‘At Home’, ‘Out for the Day’, ‘Asleep’, ‘Be Right back’ do? If I select them, should it arm the system? Not clear.
(actually a third issue, too, but this is minor it’s not really an issue… when setting up Home View, I should be able to select more than one green icon per zone, as multiple windows in our house may be on one zone).
Other than that, pretty good system. We don’t touch the keypads anymore. Still areas of improvement and I have to believe it will get better.
Is there an estimated time frame for when we can expect apple watch support?
I am unable to upload a photo after the recent update. It just continues to swirl after I select a photo. Please fix
The app works great for alarming and disarming my ADT security system when I am out of the house (or even in the house when going to bed). Its easy to also see a history of when various zones in the house were opened, closed or detected motion. The recent addition of TouchID support makes the app much more useful. The only thing missing now is an Watch app: much more convenient to set or disable the security system from my wrist than to dig out my phone.
Some bad moments
The app used to work. I cant sign in with my 6+ and the title screen is garbled. Hope they issue a fix soon.
Works when it wants to. But lately it has been unable to connect to my system which causes inconvenience especially when you need to access your system remotely. Apparently you have to uninstall/install the app if you continually have connection issue with your Pulse system. Its a bug that is less than acceptable especially when you pay so much to have this system in the first place.
Ever since the last update this app hasnt been working properly.
I have virtually no access to my three cameras, the app constantly says it cannot connect to any of them.
Whatever features were updated or added shouldnt have meant that something very useful that was already there and working has now stopped functioning.
They need to fix this soon!
This update breaks live video viewing, and clips are either very slow to load, or do not load at all. Its easy to boast about pan/zoom when no video is displayed.
If I use the browser-based portal (on the same device) everything works well. Pull this version or fix it ASAP.
Have ADT for 8 years in two different houses.
Was sold ADT Pulse at the Ottawa home show. Met with the sales rep to sign a contract. Scheduled time off from work to be at home for the installer.
Cancelled!!!
ADT Pulse doesnt support partitions. Good thing I asked and asked again before having the existing panel ripped out.
This app does NOT work!
You think that when you design a home security app, the top quality you would want would be reliability. This app only works 50% of the time!
For a company who is trying to compete with many many other companies it would at least try to keep up with the times.
With the home automation trend sky rocketing into the market, you think ADT could at least supply a proper, reliable, simple security app.
